FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method and apparatus for the production of olefin polymers include gas-phase polymerization of one or more olefins in the presence of a polymerization catalyst. As the polymerization result, the growing polymer particles flow down by gravity along the inclined cylindrical plane in the densified form, forming a packed bed of the flowing polymer particles. Said polymer particles flow through the convergent area of the packed bed located in the convergent part, extending from the bed bottom to a distance equal to 15%, or 10%, or 5% of the total height of the packed bed. The method includes dispensing an additive to reduce static charge. The additive dispensing is carried out via the feeding pipeline connected with the packed bed at the inlet point located at the feeding zone extending from the top of the convergent part up to a distance of five times, or four times, or twice larger than the cross section diameter of the packed bed above the convergent area.

EFFECT: decontamination of fine polymer particles, control of the catalyst activity, reduction of electric charge.
