FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the preparation of polyolefins by polymerization of olefins in the presence of a polymerization catalyst. Polymerization is carried out in the presence of an additive that reduces static charges. Static charge reducing additive includes a polymer derived from an alkylene oxide containing on average 10 to 200 repeating units -(CH2-CHR-O)-. Polymer obtained from the alkylene oxide is a random ethylene oxide copolymer and other alkylene oxides. Ratio of n: m repeating units -(CH2-CH2-O)- derived from ethylene oxide, to repeating units -(CH2-CHR'-O)-, obtained from other alkylene oxides, is 6:1–1:1. End groups of a polymer derived from an alkylene oxide are groups -OH.
EFFECT: preventing electrostatic charge and reducing the formation of a sheet coating of the walls or deposition of polymeric agglomerates in the polymerization reactor.
