FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing an ethylene polymer in the presence of Phillips chromium catalyst in a gas-phase polymerization reactor is presented. Reactor is equipped with a gas recycle pipe with a heat exchanger. Reactor gas is fed back to the polymerization reactor through a pipeline, where it partially condenses. Volume of liquid in the reactor gas fed back to the polymerization reactor is 0.5–10 % by weight. Polymerization is carried out at a temperature of 108–125 °C. Aluminum alkyl is fed to the polymerization reactor in an amount of 0.0025–0.1 mol per ton of ethylene.
EFFECT: increasing the productivity of the process, reducing the level of electrostatic charges in the polymerization reactor, improving the morphology of polyethylene powder with a low level of fine fractions and polymer gels.
