FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises supplying air or contaminated air into the plasma generator using an electric arc discharge, electrostatic field, nano-pulsed electric field, a dielectric barrier discharge, laser, radio or microwave radiation, or any combination thereof, to obtain the concentration of 0.1-12 volume % NOx in air by direct nitrogen fixation, and subsequent rapid cooling to a temperature between 60°C and 150°C for 10-3 seconds, supplying said NOx-containing air into the absorber, and absorbing the NOx by an absorbing liquid in an absorber operating at a temperature between 20°C and 80°C, with forming a nitrate solution containing nitrates and nitrites, and feeding the nitrate solution into the organic material or the waste, whereby the pH reaches 4-6, and the nitrites and nitrates bind volatile ammonia and ammonia-containing components in the organic material or waste or from them in the form of nitrate and nitrite ammonia salts.
EFFECT: reducing ammonia loss and eliminating the odour from organic material or waste into the atmosphere.
