FIELD: thermal methods for recovering liquid and solid radioactive fossil-material wastes of industrial nuclear cycles using uranium, plutonium, and their fission products. SUBSTANCE: process for decontaminating radioactive fossil-material wastes to obtain environmentally safe products and to transfer radionuclides to compact form involves combustion of wastes in granular-catalyst fluidized-bed reactor wherein fossil materials are fully oxidized at relatively low temperature. Excess heat is removed by means of heat- transfer apparatus immersed in catalyst layer. Then cooled gases are cleaned from finely dispersed dust and gaseous acid components in cyclone, jet scrubber, adsorbing condenser. Final cleaning from finely dispersed dust is effected by means of fine-fiber aerosol filter. EFFECT: facilitated procedure, reduced cost, improved environmental friendliness. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
