METHOD FOR SERVICE DOGS WORKING QUALITIES DETERMINATION Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B10/00

Abstract RU 2621382 C1

FIELD: veterinary medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves determination of the stress sensitivity degree for dogs in response to a stimulus. 50-60% turpentine solution on mineral oil at a dose of 0.050-0.075 ml is used as the stimulus. Turpentine is injected intradermally into the middle outer ear shell surface. After 24-72 hours, local reaction to drug introduction is assessed. In case of ear thickening by 5.1 mm or more, swelling diameter of 36.3 mm or more, local increase of skin temperature by 1.2°C and more, dogs are treated as animals with low working qualities. In case of no local reaction, or a mild form of manifestation - ear thickening of no more than 1.8 mm, swelling diameter of no more than 12.0 mm, skin temperature increase of not more than 0.4°C, dogs are treated as animals with high performance qualities. In case of local reaction with average attributes - skin fold thickening up 4.1 mm, swelling diameter up to 23.4 mm, local skin temperature increase to 1.0°C, dogs belong to animals with low working qualities.

EFFECT: method allows rapid testing and objective evaluation of dog working qualities in their selection for training.
