SUBSTANCE: closed source of ionizing radiation contains consistently interconnected sealed capsules with each capsule of radioactive insert with radioactive substance on it, wherein the sealed capsules are interconnected by braiding several hermetic capsules of surgical absorbable thread, and the radioactive insert located in each sealed capsule is made in the form of a metal tube of silver or steel, covered with a silver layer with metal tube wall thickness not exceeding the inverse value of the radiation of the linear radiation attenuation average coefficient weighted by the emission spectrum by the metal tube substance or from a piece of silver wire, a radioactive substance is uniformly deposited on the surface of the metal tube or on a piece of silver wire, the sealed capsule is formed of a tube cut of titanium alloy and welded thereto by laser welding by the end walls.
EFFECT: ability to reduce power loss of ionizing radiation with a corresponding decrease in the consumption of radioactive substance quantities per sealed capsule.
