FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: paraffin wax obtained by the Fischer-Tropsch method comprises paraffins having from 9 to 24 carbon atoms, has a melting point in the range from 15 to 32°C, the amount of paraffins having 16 to 18 carbon atoms, obtained by the Fisher-Tropsch method, in it is equal to at least 85% by wt based on the total amount of the paraffins having 14 to 20 carbon atoms, obtained by the Fisher-Tropsch method, or the amount of paraffins having 18 to 20 carbon atoms, obtained by the Fischer-Tropsch method, in it is equal to at least 80% by wt based on the total amount of paraffines having from 16 to 22 carbon atoms, obtained by the Fisher-Tropsch method. The material for thermal energy storage and the use of paraffin wax as the material with the changeable phase state in the versions for thermal energy storage are claimed as well.
EFFECT: paraffin waxes obtained have a higher latent heat, less paraffin wax is used in the materials for thermal energy storage according to the present invention.
