SUBSTANCE: device for processing used absorbent sanitary items consists of a rotatable cylindrical autoclave, a heating circuit that pressurizes the autoclave to heat the absorbent sanitary products to sterilisation temperature for their destructurization, and the sealing layer on the inner surface of the autoclave. The autoclave has two ends, at least one of which ends with a shutter and the sealing layer contains grease or oil, and is made to prevent sticking onto the inner surface of the material coming from the destructuring of absorbent hygiene articles. Also described is a method of treating used absorbent sanitary products.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of extraction of high-quality materials from processed sanitary hygiene products.
