FIELD: processing and recycling of wastes.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for recycling used absorbent sanitary products. Sterilization device comprises: container (12), made with possibility of rotation around horizontal axis (A) and having hollow wall (26) comprising inner wall (28), outer wall (30) and gap (32) formed between inner wall (28) and outer wall (30). Device also comprises rotary joint (34) arranged coaxially relative to said horizontal axis and having steam supply chamber (48) and condensate discharge chamber (50), wherein steam supply chamber (48) and condensate discharge chamber (50) are configured to communicate with corresponding zones of gap (32) through steam supply pipe (52) and condensate collection pipe (54). Condensate collection pipe (54) has end (84) attached to outer wall (30) of container (12) and communicated with gap (32). Device also comprises container (86) for collecting condensate, located in gap (32), and having outlet end (88) enclosing end (84) of pipe (54) for collecting condensate, and leading edge (90) extending to gap (32) and facing cylindrical part (92) of outer wall (30).

EFFECT: invention enables to optimize the transfer of thermal energy from the walls of the device to the products by eliminating the problem of filling gap (32) with a liquid formed as a result of condensation of non-contact steam, and, consequently, preventing reduction of heat exchange surface between steam and inner wall (28) of container (12).
