SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the processing of used absorbent hygiene products. A method for separating plastic from cellulose from used absorbent hygiene products is proposed, in which successive batches of used absorbent hygiene products are sterilized in at least one rotary autoclave (18), characterized in that it contains steps at which: the sterilized absorbent hygiene products are crushed in a shredder (36) and a sterilized and crushed material containing plastic and cellulose is obtained, the sterilized and crushed material containing plastic and cellulose is dried in the drier (42) and the cellulose is separated from the plastic in the specified sterilized, crushed and dried material in at least one separation module (64) containing at least one centrifuge separator (66), designed to receive material from the specified drier (42). A device for separating plastic from cellulose from used absorbent hygiene products is also described.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of the method and device for separating plastic from cellulose from used absorbent hygiene products.
