FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in applications of a single-position radio-wave detection device (DD) with a wide detection zone (DZ) for the signaling cover of two adjacent roads, one of which has a bend. The method consists in deploying the DD along the road segment, where they lie to each other at a distance not exceeding 80% of the maximum possible DZ length of the DD so that the DD is from the outside of the road curve corner, beyond the road with a straight section; the DZ axis was parallel to the bisector of the bend angle of the road and offset relative to it so that the ratio of the lengths of two road sections lying on opposite sides of the curve corner and located in the DZ was 1:4; issuing a DD alarm in the event of an intruder crossing his DZ; analysing the Doppler frequency addition (DFA) of the reflected signal at the output of the DD signal processing circuit during the entire time the intruder was in his DZ; determining the traffic direction on the road with a straight section by the presence of a positive or negative DFA of the reflected signal; determining the traffic direction on the road with a bend relative to the duration of the first part of the reflected signal with a positive sign of the DFA, to the length of the second part of the reflected signal having a negative sign of the DFA.

EFFECT: it is possible to determine all four directions of the intruder's motion separately using only one single-position radio-wave detection means.
