SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cigarette filter, the filter comprising the throttle element having the main body of the throttle element arranged to cover the filter cross section, and the through passage formed through the main body part of the throttle element in the longitudinal direction of the filter; the rear filtering material that is located on the rear side of the throttle element and filters the main stream smoke components; and the rotary mechanism allowing the relative rotation of the rear filtering material and the throttle element around the longitudinal axis of the filter. The through passage of the throttling element is configured so that the position in which the through passage faces to the front butt surface of the rear filter material varies according to the relative rotation of the rear filter material and the throttling element, and the front filtering material that filters out components of the main stream smoke and is located on the front side of the throttling element so that there is a cavity between the through passage and the front filtering material.

EFFECT: providing preventing the increase in air flow resistance of the filter material.
