FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing a filler product comprising calcium carbonate, with treated surface is disclosed, wherein the surface treatment layer comprises at least one mono-substituted succinic anhydride and optionally at least one mono-substituted succinic acid and/or salt product(s) of their interaction. The filler product with treated surface, and a polymer composition containing the mentioned filler product, and a product such as fibre and/or yarn and/or film and/or thread, and a product such as article are also disclosed. The use of mono-substituted succinic anhydride to reduce the hydrophilicity of the filler surface comprising calcium carbonate, and the use of the filler product with treated surface to initiate the cross-linking reaction in epoxide resins are also disclosed.
EFFECT: invention provides a filler with reduced hydrophilicity and mechanical property improvement of articles using it.
