FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for forming ceramic articles by slip casting and can be used in production of tubular articles, for example, from silicon carbide, used as containers for a long period burial of radioactive wastes. Device for forming ceramic articles by slip casting comprises an outer shell made of sheet steel perforated with holes and an internal forming core. Inner surface of the perforated shell is covered with a layer of filtering paper. Square of holes on the perforated shell increases along the height from 35 % on the upper part to 65 % on the lower part, herewith the square of holes is distributed discretely along the perforated shell, herewith the length of each discrete section is equal to 50 mm, and the number of discrete sections is equal to the relative length of the article to the length of a discrete section, on each of which the holes square is increased by a value equal to the difference of the hole square of the lower and the upper parts of the shell, which is related to the number of discrete sections in percentage.

EFFECT: higher uniformity of casts, reduced spoilage during formation of ceramic articles of tubular shape by slip casting.
