FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for preparing sulphocationites from heavy oil residues involves treating the feedstock with concentrated sulfuric acid with stirring, washing the desired product with water to remove excess sulfuric acid (pH 7), removing water and drying the desired product. According to the invention, heavy oil residues with a total content of asphaltene-resinous components of, at least, 50 wt %, which are pre-dissolved to a feed content of 10-20 wt %, sulfonation is carried out with a 4-6-fold excess of concentrated sulfuric acid at room temperature for, at least, 5 minutes, followed by centrifugation to isolate the desired product, which is carried out before removal of excess sulfuric acid.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to prepare sulphocathionites in a short time at room temperature based on heavy oil residues with good ion-exchange properties, while the amount of washing water necessary for washing the desired product is significantly reduced.
