SUBSTANCE: stylus comprises a tip section, which has a cavity. The cavity has a plurality of holes on the first end and a transmitter of acoustic, for example ultrasonic, waves at the end longitudinally opposite the first end. The tip end is less than a quarter wavelength from the outlet ends of the holes. When the tip end is placed on the working surface, acoustic waves propagate from the transmitter through the cavity, and is out through the holes and extend less than a quarter wavelength on the working surface relatively close to the tip.
EFFECT: reducing the multipath propagation influence of the acoustic signals received by the acoustic sensors arranged at the distance from the working surface.
