SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a developing device for forming a visible image by developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the image bearing element of an electrophotographic type, of an electrostatic recording type. The claimed group of inventions includes developing devices and regulating elements. Wherein the developing device comprises a developer transfer element for carrying and feeding the developer, regulating part for regulating the developer coating quantity carried on the noted developer transfer element. The noted regulating part includes an edge part in the closest position to the surface of the noted developer transfer element and includes a flat part inclined in the closest position to an angle of 2 degrees or less relative to tangent plane that is in contact with the developer transfer element surface, and a rectifying part for straightening the developer flow. The noted rectifying part is connected to the edge part or inlet end of the flat part on the input side of the noted regulating part relative to the direction of the developer supply. In a cross-section perpendicular to the axial direction of the noted developer transfer element, when the coordinates are set so that the upper end of the flat part or the edge part is the origin of the E-coordinates, a direction that is parallel to the tangent plane and which is opposite to the developer supply direction is the positive side of the X axis, a direction which is perpendicular to the X axis and which extends from the noted developer transfer element is the positive side of the Y axis and the nearest distance between the noted regulating part and the noted developer transfer element is G, in a region where the X axis component is 3G or less, the noted rectifying part has a concave surface so that the degree of gap reduction between the noted rectifying part and the touching plane is increased to the output side of the developer supply direction and is formed by smooth connection of straight lines each of 0.2 mm or less, or curved lines each of 0.2 mm or less apart from the origin of the E-coordinates, so that the gap between the noted rectifying part and the touching plane is monotonically reduced to the output side of the developer supply direction.
EFFECT: providing a developing device and a regulating element, which are allow for the construction realisation by means of which a stable density can be obtained without the need to display high precision parts and high-precision adjustments.
