FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: extraction of scandium from chloride solutions by sorption is carried out on a solid extractant (TVEX) based on polymer beads impregnated with an organophosphorus extractant. As TVEX, crosslinked polystyrene beads impregnated with tributyl phosphate and elemental iodine, taken in an amount of 2.5-25.0 wt %. Desorption of scandium is carried out with water. When scandium is sorbed from iron-containing solutions, iron cations (3+) are preliminarily reduced to iron (2+).

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify the process of extracting scandium from solutions and pulps using a solid extractant and to reduce reagent costs by using scandium water for desorption instead of hydrofluoric acid solutions.
