DEVICE FOR PREVENTION OF HOLD DOWN BARREL TRANSFER IN MEDICAL CATHETERS AND DEVICES TO MAINTAIN POSITIVE AIRWAY PRESSURE Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61M25/04 A61M25/10

Abstract RU 2624357 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: device for fluid pressure limitation in the hold down barrel of a medical catheter designed for use with a source of pressurized fluid having an associated connector, at that, the medical catheter hold down barrel has a fluid supply path from the medical catheter hold down barrel refilling device and a return fluid path, communicating with the medical catheter hold down barrel connected to the device. The said device comprises a housing with an inlet port for fluid, where the connector associated with the pressurized fluid source is inserted, and an outlet port for fluid, the first flow chamber connecting the inlet port for fluid and to the outlet port for fluid in the housing; the second flow chamber connected to the return fluid path; and means for obstruction of fluid flow through the first flow chamber when the fluid pressure in the second flow chamber exceeds a predetermined level. Means for fluid flow obstruction comprises movable means to divide the second flow chamber into the first portion connected to the return fluid path, and the second portion. The movable means can move between the first position in which fluid flow through the first flow chamber is not obstructed, and the second position in which fluid flow through the first flow chamber is obstructed. The movable means is moved from the first position to the second position in response to excess fluid pressure in the first portion of the second flow chamber. The device further comprises a flexible means located in the second portion of the second flow chamber. The flexible means determines the normally open portion of the first fluid flow chamber, wherein the portion is closed by the movable means, abutting to the flexible means, when the movable means is in the second position.

EFFECT: invention is more simple and less expensive compared to its analogs.
