FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for processing heavy petroleum feedstock by catalytic cracking to distillate fractions in the presence of a catalyst in a sealed autoclave in the inert gas environment. The cobalt powder of micron and submicron sizes is used as a catalyst in the amount of 0.4-0.8 wt %, the process is carried out at the temperature of 420°C for 1.5 hours with the possibility of the catalyst re-use.
EFFECT: achieving a higher conversion of fuel oil and heavy petroleum feedstock with a high yield of light fractions.
