SUBSTANCE: one ultrasound observation is performed, passing through the object, wherein each observation is performed on the axis perpendicular to the symmetry plane. Each observation is obtained by the ultrasound radiation formed along the respective one of the said axes and falling on the object along the said axis at the incidence angle other than normal. The ultrasound falls on the object so as to follow a path, which is symmetrical against the symmetry plane. The flight time of the ultrasound wave and/or the axis position, on which radiation and observation are peformed, are analyzed to describe the characteristics of the object.
EFFECT: providing the opportunities to determine the characteristics of a small object.
