FIELD: pharmacology.

SUBSTANCE: composition for oral care is proposed. It contains a tetrabasic zinc halogenide and an amino acid, where the tetrabasic zinc halogenide and the amino acid are a complex. Herein the amino acid is lysine or arginine. It is also proposed to use tetrabasic zinc halogenide with an amino acid to make a composition for oral care. Wherein the tetrabasic zinc halogenide and the amino acid are a complex and the amino acid is lysine or arginine. Methods of using the composition are as follows: a method of treatment or reduction of tooth enamel erosion, a tooth brushing method, a method of reduction of the biofilm and dental plaque formed by bacterium, a gingivitis suppression method, a method of inhibition of dental caries and cavitation, a method of dentinal hypersensitivity suppression.

EFFECT: use of a complex formed by the tetrabasic zinc halogenide and an amino acid provides a high solubility of the zinc compound in the composition for oral care and a decrease in the solubility and relative precipitation of the zinc compound in high dilution and, consequently, an effective delivery of zinc to the tooth surface.
