SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition comprising (i) a complex (four-base zinc)-(amino acid or trialkylglycine)-halogenide, which is a four-base zinc-lysine chloride complex, a four-base zinc-arginine-chloride complex, a four-base zinc-glycine-chloride complex, or a four-base zinc-trimethylglycine chloride complex and (ii) cysteine in free or in an orally or cosmetically acceptable salt form, to kill bacteria, reduce perspiration, reduce body odor, treat or reduce acne frequency, provide a white precipitate, reduce or inhibit acid erosion of enamel, clean teeth, reduce bacterial-produced biofilms and plaque, reduce gum inflammation, inhibit dental caries and caries cavities formation, and reduce dentine hypersensitivity, at that, the (four-base zinc)-(amino acid or trialkylglycine)-halogenide complex is prepared by precursors mixing in an aqueous solution where the precursors are four-base zinc chloride, an amino acid source and a chloride source, where a part of the chloride source can be the amino acid source or hydrochloric acid.
