FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method for measuring the non-linear optical properties of substances and materials by the z-scan method during monochromatic laser pumping involves measuring the dependence of the transmission coefficient of a plane-parallel test sample as it moves along the z axis of a focused laser beam. The test sample is positioned obliquely to the incident laser beam so that the incident angleα, the diameter of the laser beam at the input of the collecting lens d and the thickness of the test sample h meet the condition , where n is the linear refractive index of the sample material with respect to the air. Non-linear optical properties are determined by the type of the obtained dependence.

EFFECT: reduced measurement error of the transmission coefficient of the test sample in a wide spectral range.
