FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: installation including a chelating unit, a thermosyphon device with a steam heater, and a hydrogen sulfide direct oxidation unit consisting of at least one reactor are proposed. During the operation of the plant, the hydrogen sulphide gas is heated with heat carrier vapor, mixed with air and sent to a catalytic reactor in which most of the hydrogen sulfide is oxidized to produce commercial sulfur withdrawn from the plant and the gas with sulfur vapor is directed to a chelate purification unit where hydrogen sulphide is air-oxidised in the presence Chelate complexes of iron, oxidation gases, and purified gas are removed from the unit, and liquid sulfur is fed to the commercial sulfur line. The heat of reaction from the catalytic reactor is withdrawn to the thermosyphon device by circulating the boiling heat carrier, and the excess heat from the plant is removed by circulating the heat transfer medium.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce metal consumption, energy consumption and increase the purity of sulfur.
