FIELD: sulfur production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for sulfur production from sulfurous gases; it can be used in different industries. The plant includes a thermosiphon device with a steam heater of raw gas, at least one catalytic section with a separation device and a catalytic oxidation unit. During plant operation, sulfurous gas is heated with heat carrier steam in the thermosiphon device, is mixed with the air and is directed to the catalytic section, where hydrogen sulfide is oxidized to elemental sulfur, which is separated and removed. Waste gas is directed to the catalytic oxidation unit, where sulfur vapors or all waste gas are oxidized with air, and oxidation gases are removed. Excess heat is removed by means of circulation of the balance heat carrier.
EFFECT: increase in fire and explosion safety of the plant and a reduction of catalyst loading volume.
