FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: temporary keratoprosthesis comprises a lens transparent in the visible range with upper optical surface curvature close to the corneal curvature, and refractive power close to the optical power of the cornea. At that, the lens is rigidly fixed to the ring surface with diameter greater than the lens diameter. This keratoprosthesis is fixed on the eye surface by a binder, at that, the conjunctiva around the temporary keratoprosthesis ring is sutured by purse suture, with thread tied so that a fold of the conjunctiva is formed on the ring surface around the lens.
EFFECT: reduced probability of postoperative complications and sealing of the gap between the temporary keratoprosthesis and the eye surface.
