FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. For surgical treatment of corneal diseases in limbal growth zone dysfunction, total through keratoplasty is performed. Before through corneal trepanation, conjunctiva are separated with recipient's tenon membrane at distance of 5–10 mm from limb, scleral area is opened, through corneal trepanation is performed to Schlemm's canal zone without injuring drainage zone. Donor graft is a cornea-scleral disc comprising both a cornea and a limbal region, wherein the donor graft diameter is larger than the corneal wound of recipient by 0.5–10 mm. Corneal-scleral disc is laid on the area of the removed corneal disk and part of the sclera of the recipient, the sclera of the transplant is fixed to the sclera of the recipient with interrupted sutures, then the conjunctiva of the recipient together with the tenon membrane is laid from above and fixed with sutures.
EFFECT: what is presented is a method for surgical management of corneal diseases.
