FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: surface layers of leukoma are incised, and a transplant is placed on the stroma surface. The transplant is a cultured autologous cartilage equivalent, which is modelled during culturing or immediately before placing on the corneal stroma surface.
EFFECT: improving the strength properties of post-burn leukoma for the purpose of following keratoprosthesis with reducing or eliminating completely a prosthesis rejection.
