FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: on the shaft of the controlled product, a speed sensor is installed, generating pulses when the shaft rotates. Thus, when the shaft rotates at a constant angular velocity, the sensor generates a pulsed sequence with constant interpulse intervals, the presence of a defect leads to the occurrence of microvariations of the shaft rotations and, consequently, to variations of the interpulse intervals in the pulse sequence generated by the sensor; from the pulse sequence generated by the sensor. With the help of the threshold device, a standard sequence of individual pulses and a sequence thinned a whole number of times with the help of a frequency divider are formed, then the time intervals between the pulses of the original sequence or the decimated sequence are measured. After that, for the standard or decimated sequence, the mean square deviation of the intervals between pulses from the mean value is found, and if the fixed standard deviation is above a certain threshold, it is concluded that the product has a defect.
EFFECT: simplification of the procedure for identifying a defect and reducing the necessary computational costs.
