FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: rotary gate valve includes a casing with a flow through part, a locking gate element connected with the rotary shaft. The locking gate element is made of two concentrically mounted ball-formed segments, the rotary shaft is located perpendicular to the axis of the locking gate element. The small ball-formed segment is rigidly connected with the rotary shaft, and the large one has the ability to rotate around it. Fixed stops which have rotational symmetry relative to their axis are made in places where the casing and the large ball-formed segment are joined, and the large ball-formed segment and the small ball-formed segment are joined, grooves are provided on the reciprocating surfaces. Design feature is that the large ball-formed segment rotates around its axis in one direction, and the small ball-formed segment rotates in two directions.
EFFECT: creation of a rotary gate valve with two pass-through cross-sections in the presence of only one shaft and one drive makes it easier to design the gate and to reduce its mass.
