FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for regeneration of a deactivated hydrotreating catalyst is described, in which the deactivated catalyst is calcined in a stream of air or in a layer not exceeding 30 mm, or in a rotating drum furnace with layer stirring at a temperature of not more than 650°C, i.e. under conditions providing a catalyst with a pore volume of 0.3-0.8 ml/g, specific surface area of 150-280 m2/g, average pore diameter of 6-15 nm and containing, wt %: Co - 2.0-5.35; Mo: 10.0-16.0; S is 0.2-0.8; C - no more than 0.2; which is further impregnated with a solution of citric acid with a concentration in the range of 1.3-2.5 mol/liter in a mixture of water and butyl diglycol (10-20 wt %) and subjected to heat treatment under conditions providing a catalyst containing, wt %: Co(C6H6O7) - 5.1-18.0; H4[Mo4(C6H5O7)2O11] - 7.5-15.0; H3[Co(OH)6Mo6O18] - 4.3-19.0; SO42- - 0.5-2.30; carrier - the rest.
EFFECT: invention allows to restore catalysts activity.
