SUBSTANCE: needle-free injection device includes a main spring that can be compressed using one or more handles. Handles are attached to the device for bringing the needle-free injection device to the cocked position. The injector tube and the corresponding devices move relative to other device designs when the injector is pressed against the patient's skin with sufficient force.

EFFECT: operative switches and unlocking mechanisms cooperate to prevent injection until the device is properly positioned for injection.
