SUBSTANCE: to determine the degree of ulcerative colitis activity, the patient's body temperature is measured in °C, the leukocyte count (109/l), platelets (109/l), erythrocyte sedimentation rate from the general blood test (mm/h) and the total number of complaints characteristic of ulcerative colitis are estimated in diagnostic coefficients (DC). The total diagnostic coefficient is determined and the patient's temperature in °C and the total diagnostic coefficient are substituted in each function: Z1=+9.5853×DK+561.1×T-10359.8, Z2=+9.4455×DK+567.0×T-10577.9, Z3=+9.6155×DK+576.2×T-10925.3, where T is the temperature in °C. The degree of ulcerative colitis activity of in a patient is determined by the maximum value of function Z, where Z1 corresponds to the first degree of activity, Z2 - to the second degree of activity and Z3 - to the third degree.

EFFECT: method allows to determine the degree of ulcerative colitis activity in patients with contraindications to endoscopy.
