SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and represents a method for diagnosing severity of attack in patients with ulcerative colitis by assessing endoscopic view of the disease, comprises additional examining concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor in serum, determining the number of desquamated endotheliocytes in blood plasma, and determining the severity of attack by formula: TA=0.0121+0.0003VEF+0.0338DEC+0.7476EA, where TA - severity of ulcerative colitis attack, VEF - vascular endothelial serum factor (pg/mL), DEC - number of desquamated endotheliocytes (x104/l), EA - endoscopic activity (Schroeder scale), and if the TA is less than 0.4, absence of attack is being diagnosed, if the TA is from 0.4 to 1.4, mild attack of the disease is being diagnosed, value of 1.5 to 2.4 corresponds to moderate severity level, and more than 2.5 indicates severe attack.

EFFECT: invention ensures high accuracy and objectivity of diagnosing the severity of attack of ulcerative colitis.
