FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: engine system (10) for the vehicle comprises an engine (12), a turbocharger (20) configured to compress the intake air (30) before the intake air is received in the engine (12). The engine system (10) comprises a charge air cooler (40) operatively disposed between the turbocharger (20) and the engine (12) and the cooling system (50). The cooling system (50) is operable in the first mode to provide a first cooling circuit for cooling the engine (12) and a second separate cooling circuit for cooling air passing through the charge air cooler (40). The cooling system (50) is operable to operate in at least a second mode to provide a third cooling circuit in which the coolant from the engine (12) is transferred to the charge air cooler (40) for heating prior to recirculation back to the engine (12) for the heating of the engine.
EFFECT: reducing the rise time of refrigerant and engine oil temperatures.
