SUBSTANCE: method comprises the steps of decoding an instruction by a decoding module in the processor; executing the instruction by the execution unit in the processor, wherein in the step of executing the instruction: receiving a pointer to the stream of information encoded in accordance with the compression scheme; sampling part of the coded information; and applying said portion of the encoded information to an associative memory (CAM) scheme to obtain the decoded information.
EFFECT: simplification of the decoding process.
