SUBSTANCE: steam iron (1) comprises: a body (2) in which a water evaporation chamber (22) is formed; a heating element (12) disposed in the body (2) and configured to allow the evaporation chamber (22) to be heated; a sole (8) which is connected to the body and in which at least one opening (10) for generating steam is formed; a steam-permeable screen (24) disposed inside the water evaporation chamber (22) and separating the water evaporation chamber into a vaporization zone (28) and a steam zone (30); a liquid water supply channel (16) having an outlet element (16b) that provides outlet to the steam zone (28); and a steam discharge channel (20) having a steam entry element (20a) that starts from the vapour zone (30) and a steam outlet element (20b) that provides discharge to at least one opening for release of steam made in the sole (8).
EFFECT: increased efficiency of ironing.
