FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises analysis of a sample taken from a patient and determination of the expression level of at least one miRNA, selected from miR-126, miR-210 and miR-101 miR-126, and comparison of the said expression level with a control value, wherein: (a) a decrease in the expression level of serum miR-127 with respect to the control value indicates acute kidney damage; (b) an increase in the level of expression of miR-127 in urine with respect to the control value indicates acute kidney damage; (c) a decrease in the expression level of serum miR-126 with respect to the control value indicates acute kidney damage; (d) an increase in the expression level of serum miR-210 with respect to the control value indicates acute kidney damage; (e) a decrease in the level of miR-210 expression in urine with respect to the control value indicates acute kidney damage; or (f) an increase in the expression level of serum miR-101 in respect to the control value indicates acute kidney damage.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of diagnosis.
