SUBSTANCE: to measure the erythrocyte deformability characteristics, video recording and processing of the diffraction pattern resulting from laser beam scattering on a diluted suspension of erythrocytes, deformed by viscous friction forces in a shear flow, digitization of this diffraction pattern, and determination of the iso-intensity line shape lying in the diffraction pattern are performed. The scattered light intensity is approximately half the intensity of the central diffraction maximum. Also, the coordinates of the iso-intensity line polar points xp and yp, lying on the intersection of this iso-intensity line with a horizontal axis of coordinates and a vertical axis of coordinates, and the curvature radii R (xp) and R(yp) of this iso-intensity line at the indicated polar points are measured with subsequent calculation of the average erythrocyte s deformability, erythrocyte deformability dispersion μ and asymmetry coefficient of erythrocyte distribution by deformability ν by mathematical formulas.

EFFECT: group of inventions allows more accurate determination of the scattered light intensity level on the iso-intensity line chosen for measurements, which will greatly simplify the measurement procedure.
