FIELD: pharmacology.

SUBSTANCE: invention is an antibacterial composition comprising lysostaphin in an amount of 1 to 1000 mcg/ml, high molecular weight chitosan, with a molecular weight in the range of 100 to 600 kDa in an amount of 10% to the lysostaphin weight used in the composition, a thickener selected from: polyvinyl alcohol in an amount of 2 to 15 wt %, or glycerol in an amount of 10 to 90 wt %, or polyethylene glycol in an amount of 1 to 20 wt %, or polyvinylpyrrolidone in an amount of 10 to 50 wt % and water - the rest.

EFFECT: invention provides high antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus.
