FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: solid catalyst component for the polymerization of olefins contains Mg, Ti and an electron-donor compound with the formula (I), where R1 is selected from hydrocarbon groups C1-C15, optionally containing a halogen atom, of the group R2 are independently selected from hydrogen or alkyl groups C1-C10, the bridging group A has the formula -(ZR3m)n- n-, in which, independently, Z is selected from C, R3, equal or different from each other, being hydrogen or hydrocarbon radicals C1-C20, which can be combined to form one or more cycles, m is a number equal to the valence of Z, and n is an integer from 1 to 10. The catalyst contains the above solid component and an external electron donor compound. A process for the (co) polymerization of olefins CH2=CHR in which R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms is carried out in the presence of a catalytic system comprising a reaction product between: i. a solid catalyst component; ii. an alkyl aluminium compound; and iii. optionally, an external electron-donor compound.
EFFECT: these catalyst components show an excellent balance of chemical activity and stereospecificity in the polymerization of olefins.
