SUBSTANCE: short circuit is detected by means of current and voltage sensors in the control system and a control signal is sent to the control system of the gas turbine engine, after which the rotation speed of the gas turbine engine is increased, thereby creating a high-intensity heat flux and heating the rotor of the starter-generator is heated to a temperature not lower than the Curie temperature of the permanent magnets.

EFFECT: stable operation of the short circuit protection system in the starter-generator at high ambient temperature, complete elimination of short circuit and increased aircraft safety.
