FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: in addition to measuring the amount of fluid flow, the time of the transient is measured when the current is turned on or off in the inductor and, from that time, the flowmeter is in good working order and there are no external disturbances affecting the accuracy of the measurements. Several variants of ways of monitoring the serviceability of an electromagnetic flowmeter and several variants of an electromagnetic flowmeter implementing the proposed methods are proposed.
EFFECT: increase of reliability of recognition of failures of components of a flowmeter and influence of external interferences on the accuracy of measurements and increase of accuracy of measurements, expansion of a range of measurements and a spectrum of application of the device.
