METHOD FOR ORIENTING WIRE-GUIDED TORPEDO Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC F41G7/20

Abstract RU 2631227 C1

FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: in the method of remotely controlled orientation of a torpedo, which includes measurement of current bearings from the carrier to the target and to the torpedo by passive sonar; determination of the current distance to the torpedo; discrete formation of the trajectory of the torpedo orientation, formation of the control command and its transmission through the wire communication line from the carrier to the torpedo, the discrete formation of the orientation trajectory is based on the fulfillment of the condition for aligning the torpedo position with a line spaced by a certain angle ϕ from the target bearing predicted for a pre-determined moment of time. The torpedo is outputted to a line spaced by a certain angleϕ not from the current target bearing, but from the target bearing predicted for a pre-determined moment of time, which is determined taking into account the current value of the bearing change.

EFFECT: increased accuracy by reducing the linear displacement of the torpedo from the target bearing, determined at the moment when the torpedo finishes the maneuver by the designated course, and improved conditions for capturing the target by the torpedo homing system.
