METHOD OF DESTROYING A MARINE TARGET BY A TORPEDO Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC B63G5/00

Abstract RU 2736660 C2

FIELD: military equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for destruction of marine targets by torpedoes. To destroy marine target with torpedo, at which torpedo is fired from ship torpedo tube and its movement to target. At the specified point of the trajectory, the onboard torpedo homing acoustic guidance system is started, the target is detected and its attack is performed, for this purpose, torpedo is brought closer by means of homing or remote control system to close or distance of contact or noncontact detonating fuse, explosive charge is exploded and target is struck. To protect against enemy torpedo attack, hydroacoustic countermeasures (GAC) means are released. Torpedo is prepared for launching on target, coordinates of which are unknown, and only bearing on detected torpedo released by sea target is known, and its heading. In preparation for launching into the onboard control system of the torpedo, a route of movement is introduced, which is directed along the course of the detected torpedo in the opposite direction towards the point of its start, additionally include a homing guidance system (HGS) channel for detecting a wake vortex trace and performing a search for a spurious vortex trace of an attacking enemy torpedo. Detecting it and directing the torpedo along the trace to the point of its release from the sea target, searching for a coherent vortex trace of the marine target, detecting it. Determining the target movement side and directing the torpedo along the detected wake vortex trace for the marine target dog, periodically inspecting the water space with the homing self-guidance system, detecting a marine target, classifying it with a homing system or, in remote control by an operator, continuing movement of the torpedo by an adjacent vortex wake until the torpedo encounters the offshoot and its fuse.

EFFECT: possibility of hitting a marine target with a torpedo when its coordinates on a firing ship are not known, and only bearing on the detected enemy torpedo released by the naval target on the ship and its course are known.
