FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: cutting unit for the harvesting machine contains a knife cutting unit for mowing the harvested crops and a feeder for transporting the mowed material from the knife cutting unit to the processing device. A recording device is provided for determining at least the height of the harvested crop as a parameter of the harvested crop. The position of the knife cutting unit relative to the feeder is adjusted by means of an adjusting mechanism. The control unit associated with the regulating device and the adjusting mechanism is arranged to adjust the position of the knife cutting unit relative to the feeder, depending on the height of the harvested crop.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of harvesting.
