FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing a mineral composition comprising a mixed solid phase of calcium and magnesium carbonates comprises the preparation a solid phase slurry in the aqueous phase comprising, at least, one calcium compound selected from calcium hydroxide, calcium carbonate and mixtures thereof, and, at least, one magnesium compound selected from magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide, at least, partially hydrated dolomitic lime and mixtures thereof. The solid phase weight is of 5 to 15% of the total slurry weight. Calcium and magnesium carbonates are produced by the action of carbon dioxide by injecting CO2 gas into the said slurry heated to 55-90°C. Flow rate of CO2 is of 2.5 to 15 dm3/min/kg of the solid slurry phase. A mixed solid phase of synthetic calcium and magnesium carbonates is produced, formed from a crystallizable calcium portion and a platelet-crystallized magnesium portion. The calcium portion comprises, at least, one carbonate selected from the group formed by calcite, aragonite, and mixtures thereof. The magnesium portion includes hydromagnesite in a plate form. The mixed solid phase has a bulk density of 250 kg/m3 or lower and 80 kg/m3 or higher.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to produce a heat insulating mineral material having a high porosity and a low density.
