FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method allows to check the rotary anemometer directly at the place of its operation. The device for implementing the method comprises of a reference torsiometer with a reading system, an electric motor and a controller. At the same time, the rotation of the axis of the anemometer is effected by an electric motor via the reference torsiometer. Twist of the torsiometer is proportional to the torque created on the axis of the anemometer. The reading system is located outside the torsiometer and allows measuring the rotation speed of the anemometer and the angle of twist. The torque, created on the axis of the anemometer, has two components due to the friction of the anemometer axis and the aerodynamic characteristics of the propeller. The deviation of the torque from the nominal value for each of the models of anemometers within the operating range of the rotation speed serves as a criterion of acceptability.
EFFECT: simplification of the calibration procedure for the anemometer.
